Designing your Custom Cake

Designing your Custom Cake for your special event is both exciting and important as the cake is one of the key aspects to making a lasting impression, making your event stand out.

Custom designed cakes are cakes that we create together to compliment the style or theme of your special event. We look at your invites, colours, venue, theme, decorations and put together a design that will both compliment and enhance your occasion.
Re-Created cakes are cakes that you have found a picture of which we can recreate and add our own touches and style too, so it becomes unique.

Things to consider before ordering to ensure your cake is perfect for your special day

How many people does your cake need to feed? This can determine the size and number of tiers needed.
What style and theme is your event? Romantic, novelty, humorous etc
What finish you want, buttercream, fondant, chocolate ganache.
Will the cake be served as dessert or small coffee pieces?
How will your cake be displayed? Cake stand etc

Price Guide

Below is just a standard starting point when you are thinking about ordering a cake. Please keep in mind I create cakes that are both delicious and finished to a high standard. Designing and creating a cake for you takes hours, days and often weeks to put together so you have an amazing cake for your special event.

All my cake toppers, figurines and flowers are all handmade for custom cakes which are often intricate and take many hours of work, therefore the price reflects this. These starting prices include your cake covered in white or ivory fondant with satin ribbon and bow on a plain fondant covered board.

Cakes

Min order 6" cake $150

• 1 Tiered cake (8") from $200
• 2 Tiered cake (8",6") from $300
• 3 Tiered cake (10",8",6") from $450

Novelty Shaped Cakes

Starting from $300

Figurines, flowers and intricate details and finishes ie.stencilling, ruffles etc will be individually quoted. Novelty cakes are made from mud cake to carve the cake into shape and hold the structure.

Cupcakes

Starting from $4 each.

Fondant toppers and intricate designs are individually quoted. Gluten free available in chocolate mud cake from $4.50 each. Minimum order 24, order increments of 6.

Biscuits

Delicious vanilla fondant covered biscuits perfect as party favors at your Wedding or special event. Matched to your theme from $3.50 each for 2" Cookies. (Average price is $5.50 for 3" cookie in bag with ribbon). May be packaged in clear cello bags with ribbon or twine from $1 each. Minimum order 24, order increments of 6.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer dummy foam cakes?
Yes we offer dummy cakes in the event that you want to add height to your cake for a more dramatic look. However please keep in mind that there isn't a big price difference as the majority of work goes into the design, covering and decorating of the outside of the cake.

Do you have face to face consultations?
We are an internet based business and therefore don't offer face to face consultations or taste testings. All our orders and designs are done effectively via email.

How will my cake, cupcakes and cookies be packaged?
All are cakes are packaged in a strong box without a lid as these offer great support and gives you confidence when transporting. You may purchase a large white cake box with clear lid if your cake is a gift, please ask us for a quote as these are imported on need basis only. Cupcakes and cookies come in a white cupcake box with clear lid with our signature ribbon and logo.

Can I purchase your sugar flowers, figurines and toppers separately?
Sorry our flowers, figures and toppers are created exclusively for our cakes, cupcakes and cookies only.

Ordering Information

Orders - I recommend 1-3 months notice for birthday and special occasion cakes and 3-6 months notice for Weddings and high detailed cakes. I will certainly try to accomodate last minute orders too, so please dont hesitate to enquire. I ask all clients to pay a 30% non refundable booking fee to secure your date that comes off your total, with remainder payment due two weeks before pickup to allow for bank processing time.

Design Change- Design change will not be excepted with less then 30 days notice and is subject to skill and ability involved with the new design, extra costs may be charged.

Cancellation - Cash refunds will not be given in the event of a cancellation, a credit voucher will be issued for the monies paid over and above the 30% non refundable booking fee and is valid for 12months to use towards a new event but cannot be used towards a booking fee.

Photos - I take photos of all cakes, cupcakes and cookies created by I Luv Cake and I reserve the right to use these images for display, advertising/media purposes without compensation to the customer

Pickup - Pickup from Strathpine is available free of charge and customers are asked to sign a release form stated that their order has been received in perfect condition. I Luv Cake is not liable for any mishaps or damage once cake is out of my care.

Delivery - Delivery is available and is quoted individually, once the cake has been delivered and set up it becomes the customers responsibility for the care and condition of their cake and I Luv Cake is not responsible for any damage that occurs thereafter.
